I let the paint and brush guide me, the whole purpose for me to paint is to let my subconscious mind do the work and reach catharsis. Therefore I try to lure it from it's hide, by submerging any part of my rational and logical mindset out of the way, so hidden feelings cannot interfere with any defence mechanisms. The moment the brush hits the canvas is the moment I feel the flow, almost like Japanese calligraphy which samurais mastered the art of. And as the title suggests, I am done when I am left emotionally exhausted but cleansed. Carthasis is to me, when you deal with your instincts in a healthy way.
